Binge drink Britain: 1,300 students descend on city centre in drunken Carnage bar crawl

More than 1,300 boozy students have taken part in a mass 'Carnage' pub crawl, bringing mayhem to the streets of Lincoln.

But police chiefs claimed the event failed to live up to its name after officers made just one arrest during the seven-hour binge drink marathon.

Organisers, Carnage UK, recruited 50 burly stewards to marshal the revellers as they stumbled between five pubs before finishing the evening in the city's Ritzy's nightclub.

The Baywatch-themed event - which sold out in under two hours - started in the Square Sail pub at 7pm on Monday evening, where the students were divided into four groups based on time of arrival.
