Casual clothes

Da oggi iniziamo ad analizzare la storia delle piu famose marche casual..iniziamo da alcune magari meno conosciute. Date un occhio anche ai negozi online che ci sono bei prodotti.

ONETrueSaxon

ONETrueSaxon is a brand that was established in 1998 by Ian Paley and a number of former Paul Smith employees. Basing themselves in Nottingham, the heart of England, their clothing took pride on the patriotism of Englishness and incorporated the heart of England itself.

Although the brand is probably more popular in the Midlands and in the North of England, many Football Casuals alike have appreciated the simplicity of the designs and quality durable fabric. OTS was once a brand enjoyed almost exclusively within Football Casual culture - but has now entered the mainstream. Fears are that the brand's recent addition to the Littlewoods Catalogue is the beginning of the end. Many of the brand's original creative team, including Paley, have since moved on to work on a new label called Garbstore which is definitely a brand to watch.

Highlight Ranges: POLO SHIRTS, JACKETS
Recommended Online Stores: Brown Bag, Not Addicted, RedSquare

Fjallraven

Fjällräven was founded in 1950 by Åke Nordin and is a Swedish company. Fjällräven translates as 'Arctic Fox'. They specialise in outdoor equipment, but mainly focus on clothing. The original idea of creating clothing from tent fabric proved to be a master-stroke. Over the years it has developed it fabrication processes, introducing beeswax and other formulants, to create it's now famous G-1000 fabric - completely waterproof, dirt repellent and highly robust.

Fjällräven is a relative newcomer to the Football Casual scene, where its appearance as a brand in the nineties started to gain in popularity. By the noughties the 'Greenland Jacket' was spotted on a regular basis. Other highlight jackets are the 'Telemark', 'Nordli', 'Montt' and 'Amazon'.

Highlight Ranges: JACKETS
Recommended Online Stores: RedSquare, OiPolloi, Originals , Tamarack , Not Addicted

Lyle & Scott

Lyle & Scott is a comeback brand to the Football Casual scene. Having originally made their name in the golf wear market they have developed ranges of polo shirts and jumpers which make them one of the hottest brands on the terraces. The brand was first spotted in the 80's as mainly v-neck jumpers which were worn over t-shirts or long collar shirts.

The golden eagle motif is now one universally recognised as being the stand out icon of the Lyle & Scott brand. Very popular with indie kids and vintage lovers.

Highlight Ranges: POLO SHIRTS, V NECK JUMPERS
Recommended Online Stores: Mainline, Henri Beene, Bolo Clothing

Union Jack

Welsh dragon on the Union Flag? Labour to consider radical overhaul

Union jack and Welsh flag split

It has stood as one of the greatest symbols of the nation for over 200 years.

But it seems that ministers feel the Union flag is in need of a bit of a make-over.

Welsh MPs now say the current flag does not represent Wales "true place in the union" and want the country's emblematic dragon included in a new design.

When challenged in a Commons debate on Monday night, Culture Minister Margaret Hodge appeared to support calls for the radical overhaul of the famous red, white and blue, which would consign hundreds of years of history to the bin.

Mrs Hodge told MPs: "The Welsh dragon was not included on the union flag, as the principality of Wales was already united with England by 1606 when the first union flag was created.

"I can assure all MPs that the issue of the design of the union flag will be considered. As the current flag is formed by merging three heraldic crosses representing the three kingdoms of the UK, the original design was a challenge.

"Thinking of a new design that would meet everyone's aspiration would be an even greater challenge."

Her comments come after Wrexham's Labour MP Ian Lucas called for change saying the union Jack should "now to reflect the four nations of the United Kingdom".

He added: "Changing an iconic image such as the Union Flag may appear to be more difficult to achieve than 200 years ago, but nonetheless I believe the change is right.

"So let the debate begin, let the rest of the world know that the iconic symbol of the United Kingdom may change and that the reason that it will change is that we have a new constitutional settlement that affords Wales its true place in the Union."

He came under fire from Tory MPs who accused him of wanting to rip up the Union Flag and accused him of "constitutional vandalism".

But Mrs Hodge replied: "I do acknowledge the comments on the Union Flag and the need for Wales to be represented - I think a valid point has been raised.

"The redesigning of the Union Flag was not part of the consultation that we are currently considering, however I am aware that this is a point that has been raised by a number of respondents."

A spokesman for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport last night admitted Mrs Hodge made the comments, but said that there were currently no serious plans to re-design the flag.

Alcool&puttane

FURIOUS fans turned on England’s players last night after they were pictured in a boozy lapdancing club before Euro 2008 clashes.

FURIOUS fans turned on England’s players last night after they were pictured in a boozy lapdancing club before Euro 2008 clashes.

Senior England stars enjoyed a birthday bash for midfielder Shaun Wright-Phillips, 25, between their crunch Russia and Croatia games.

And fed-up supporters have now demanded the FA bring in a hardline manager who control the “over-paid, over-rated” footballers.

Names in the frame include Fabio Capello, 61, Jose Mourinho, 44, and Portuguese coach Felipe Scolari, 59.

Fans want to see night curfews, tee-total commitments and sex bans.

A senior England player was yesterday said to have had sex with a girl in the lapdancing club just a few days before the humiliating 3-2 defeat by Croatia, which cost England a place in the Euro 2008 championships.

England captain John Terry, 26, was said to be so drunk he peed on the floor and in a cup.

The injured skipper was also caught on video bobbing up and down on his bad leg with a lapdancer.

And another player was alleged to have been begging lapdancers for a threesome.

Other stars – including full back Ashley Cole, 26, winger Joe Cole, 25, and midfielder Frank Lam-pard, 29 – also enjoyed the booze-fuelled bash.

Malcolm Clarke chairman of the Football Supporters’ Federation, said: “There’s a suspicion among the fans that there isn’t the commitment that there used to be among the players.

“I certainly think the reputation of the players is something that the new manager should address.”

One supporter, under the name Satsuma on the website whatmobile.net, said: “All pretty standard stuff for a bunch of over-paid, over-hyped, over-rated ‘stars’ then.”
